EMD-Research Trip to London

Recently, our colleagues Michael Billmann, Florian Hertlein and Lennard Pankok travelled to London together with Fabian Deubel, Thorsten Borgardt and Phillip John from Barmenia. After the previous challenging market phase for emerging market debt, it was especially important for us to find out where the portfolio managers see opportunities, which risks are attractively priced and how the macro picture has recently changed. It is particularly valuable for us not only to talk to the portfolio managers but also to pick up "market colour" from analysts and traders. Both managers referred to intact fundamental data, falling inflation figures and the associated monetary policy easing, so that they are cautiously positive about the coming year 2024. We remain excited!
