Manager selection: Information content of track records

When selecting managers, institutional investors usually consider historical track records as evidence of performance in their selection decision. Our colleagues Dr. Marc-André Göricke and Mark Heiden have empirically investigated the performance persistence of active asset managers using the example of U.S. small cap strategies and derive procedures how the selection decision can be optimized by track record analysis.
